25 Years: MXPX

This was my second shoot for Alternative Press and a good one!  It was a fashion shoot with the awesome band MXPX.  I booked a fancy house in Hollywood.  Booked a great stylist and got busy.  The house was amazing inside and out.  The band was cool with the ideas and let me do my thing.  I took full advantage of the location.  We shot inside and outside.  

At this time in my life I was trying all sorts of new cameras and film.  I was searching for something different from what I had been doing.  I bought two Fuji G645’s and only used those for this shoot.  They were basically point & shoot cameras that shot on 120 film.  They even had a little pop-up flash.  I loved them for a short time, but eventually gave them away.

I shot a shit ton of film for this shoot.  I thought I best cover the outfits and get more than they needed.  Since they didn’t really didn’t pay anything I had to do my best with what I got.  The one thing about editorial shoots… they don’t pay well, but in exchange you get creative freedom.
