MXPX | Alternative Press | 04.09.00

This was my second shoot for Alternative Press and a good one!Β  It was a fashion shoot with the awesome band MXPX.Β  I booked a fancy house in Hollywood.Β  Booked a great stylist and got busy.Β  The house was amazing inside and out.Β  The band was cool with the ideas and let me do my thing.Β  I took full advantage of the location.Β  We shot inside and outside. Β 

At this time in my life I was trying all sorts of new cameras and film.Β  I was searching for something different from what I had been doing.Β  I bought two Fuji G645’s and only used those for this shoot.Β  They were basically point & shoot cameras that shot on 120 film.Β  They even had a little pop-up flash.Β  I loved them for a short time, but eventually gave them away.

I shot a shit ton of film for this shoot.Β  I thought I best cover the outfits and get more than they needed.Β  Since they didn’t really didn’t pay anything I had to do my best with what I got.Β  The one thing about editorial shoots… they don’t pay well, but in exchange you get creative freedom.
