A publicity shoot for Warner Brothers Records with the band Snake River Conspiracy. Another band with the late great Jason Slater. After shooting him with Brougham and then directing a video for Brougham, Jason always hired me when he could. He was that cool and loyal.
We did the shoot at a studio in Burbank, CA. Nothing fancy and mostly shot outside. I was looking to do something different that Brougham. I wanted to highlight the lead singer Tobey Torres. She was a cutie and had a great look. The label and Jason new she was the star and I need to make sure we focused on her.
What I remember most about this publicity shoot was Jason just taking control of the band. He always had a vision for what he liked and wanted. He would give me some basic thoughts and then say… do your thing. I don’t how the band did after the shoot. Not sure if the label did their job. I do know Jason Slater was a good man and great musician.
