I’ve been living and photographing in Los Angeles since January 1982.  I came here with a dream and worked relentlessly to make it a reality.  From the start, I had one clear goal: to create the greatest body of work I possibly could—and so far, so good.

My photographic journey in LA began with my first job at Photo Impact, the best black-and-white lab in the city at the time.  Over the years, certain places and businesses have become deeply woven into my creative life.  I’ve put together a list of those that have played a significant role in shaping my photography here in Los Angeles.

  1. Photo Impact – The first, the best and still is to this day!
  2. A&I Color Lab – Was my go to place for processing E-6 when I first got here.
  3. PRS Rentals – Not only did I rent everything from PRS, but I bought my first Dynalite’s from them!
  4. Samy’s Camera – Been in LA since forever!  I bought so many of my cameras and gear from Samy’s.
  5. Pan Pacific Camera – They were on Highland, blocks from Photo Impact.  Bought my first Nikon there.
  6. Studio 46 – Best studio in LA for so long!  So many great shoots!!
  7. Silver Lab – After Photo Impact I started using Silver Lab.  They were so nice and helpful.
  8. Tom’s Chroma Lab – Blocks from my first Hollywood apartment on La Brea.  Made life easy when I could walk there.
  9. LA Color Lab – When they started the took over LA for processing.  They did everything and did it great.
  10. Pix Rentals – Had lots of friends working there.  It was nice cuz they always took good care of me.
