Being back in Australia makes me so damn happy.  I spend most of my time in Sydney, but I always make my way down to Melbourne — usually twice every three months.  This trip, I’m planning three visits.  I love both cities, but let’s be real… Sydney’s weather wins.  Melbourne? Totally unpredictable.  As one Uber driver told me, “If you don’t like it, just wait a minute.”

Both cities are packed with incredible food — you can find a great meal anywhere.  I love how the mix of cultures brings so much flavor and energy to both places.  Sydney’s beaches have my heart, though.  Melbourne’s got some nice ones, but it’s just not the same vibe.  On the flip side, I love Melbourne’s CBD — that city pulse, that creativity.

Most of all, I love my friends in both cities — some I’ve known since way back in 1988.  That kind of connection means everything.

In the end, I love them both — Sydney first, with Melbourne a very close second.  But if I had to choose one to live in, it’d be Sydney — no contest.  The beaches, the sunshine, the salt in the air… they just make me happy.

If you ever visit Australia, my simple advice: stay at least a month, explore both cities, soak it all in — and have some fun.
