Another list Yo! This time around I wanted to share 10 of My Favorite Hip Hop moments/shoots in my career. I’ll be honest, I did NOT have near as much as I wanted. I did NOT get to shoot, see or meet so many of my favorites. I’m still working on it to this day. So, here’s the 10 that I do have.
- Big Daddy Kane – Shooting him for SPIN Magazine back in 1989. Hung out, shot pix and just chilled. Not a bad moment or day!
- Fresh Prince of Bel Air – Shooting the 1st gallery shoot for the series for NBC. Those photos have become iconic for Will Smith. I do think he owes me! ;-)
- Method Man & Redman – My first shoot with them was for FOX TV when they tried to do a sitcom. They were amazing and the shoot was fun. I just remember talking about music with them and they loved my playlist for the day!
- LL Cool J – My hero and the legend. He did show up 6 hours late, but he can do what ever he wants. He was and still is the GOAT!
- Ice Cube – Took me too long to meet and shoot him, but it was worth it. I was a big fan and he did not let me down. He was the best in every way!
- Aftermath Records – This was back in 2002 for Interscope Records. That had me shoot all the artists on Aftermath Records at the time. The only one I knew was The Game. The rest I didn’t and don’t. Just upset that Dre did NOT show up!
- Too Short – This was a great day for XXL Magazine. Did the shoot in Marina Del Rey at a rental house. Hung out for the day and just shot. He was super cool in every way!
- Mase – A crazy shoot day with Mase in San Jose where I grew up. We did the shoot across the street where I graduated High School from! Very strange feeling to be shooting for Rolling Stone magazine after graduating there 20 years earlier!!!
- Ice-T – My favorite! The nicest, coolest OG mutha fucker you will ever know. Just the best conversations about music and the hustle. He called me OG in front of everyone. It was like being blessed by the pope!
- Cozz – Back in 2016 I shot Cozz for my friends at Interscope Records. I did not know who he was. My friend said he was friends with J. Cole. I was like… who? I of course embarrassed myself! UGH.
