What a great and fun day! What a fun shoot! Just crazy!! It all started with an idea to shoot the band Brougham at the Alexandria Hotel in downtown LA for publicity and packaging. I love the Alexandria Hotel cuz it was seedy, crazy, dirty and spooky. Sounded simple and easy, but then the leader of the band Jason Slater had some serious BIG ideas. Of course I loved them and said let’s do it!
Jason wanted to shoot with a couple porn stars for the cover. So we got two VIVID girls for the day. I booked good friends Raylene and Dasha to dress up like sexy devils. I shot some set ups with the band first. That was easy part. Then I shot the girls in the bedroom with the seedy red velvet wallpaper. The outfits were so sexy and fun. The girls were perfect and Jason loved the shoot and results.
Cuz of this shoot Jason Slater was nice enough to ask me to direct the music video for the first single Merked Out. The label loved the idea and Jason wanted the girls back in the picture. So we got the girls, the band shot ALL night long out in the middle of the desert. I love the end result and so did Jason. The label thought we were crazy so I knew it was good.
I was sad to hear that Jason Slater passed back in December of 2020. All I can say is thank you Jason for believing in me. We had some great times and some creative fun.
