Malcolm-Jamal Warner | BWR | 10.28.99

This was one of those shoot where I had to pinch myself.Β  Shooting Malcom Jamal Warner for his album cover was strange and crazy.Β  I never thought I would shoot him, let along his album cover.Β  He’s a brilliant jazz musician and I have to say I like the album.

We did the shoot at 5th and Sunset Studios in LA.Β  I was hired by his publicist BWR for the shoot.Β  They were and are a BIG publicity company.Β  What I remember about the shoot most is Malcom.Β  He was so cool, nice and very easy shoot.Β  We shot him in 4 different set-ups.Β  With and without his stand up bass.Β  Since it was for him and his PR I made sure to get him lots to choose from.

At the end it was a smooth shoot.Β  The packaging came out nice.Β  One of my favorites.Β  Not sure how much noise he got out of it, but I was grateful and loved the results.Β  I wonder if he did any more albums after this one?Β  I need to look I guess.Β  Where’s my Google?
