I saw the sad news on October 18th that Inger Lorre lead singer of the band The Nymphs had passed away from cancer. I woke up to the news on Facebook and just stopped what I was doing. I sat there and had a flood of memories pour into my head. So many thoughts and feelings. She was one-of-kind, creative as fuck, passionate, talented and the right kind of crazy.
I met her when she was Lori Anne. She was just a model with Elite Models here in Los Angeles around 1987 I think. We did a test shot at my studio in Hollywood and she told me she wanted to sing and have a band. I was like OK, but you do know it’s a lot of work. She was so passionate and really had a vision. She came back to me months later with her band The Nymphs. We ended up shooting again, but this time with the band. I did a couple more solo shoots with just her and then in 1991 I shot The Nymphs for Creem Magazine.
She was one of a kind. She did some crazy shit and messed some things up in the biz. Her reputation was rough, but to me she was nice and fun. A great subject who always made me look good. I loved the fact that she would come to the shoots with a clear vision of what she wanted. She made my job easy. I would just shoot and have fun. I’m gonna look over our shoots and smile. She was a creative force in every aspect of her life. Rest easy Lori Anne.
