I asked some friends the other day who their heroes were.  It made me think about who are mine.  I have SO many it’s stupid.  So I thought I would make a list of my 10 favorite heroes today.  NOT my personal ones, but more like the people who inspired me through out my life.  Make sense?

  1. Richard Avedon – My favorite photographer ever!
  2. Sydney Poitier – Just loved To Sir With Love and every movie he made.  One of my best shoots ever!
  3. Sammy Davis Jr. – When I was a kid he was my first hero.  SO talented and brilliant.  Was lucky to see him sing Candy Man at a Frank Sinatra concert in 1986.
  4. Peter Lindbergh – Fashion photographer who could do no wrong!
  5. Maurice White – Leader of my favorite band Earth, Wind & Fire!  Saw EWF 6 times while in High School.
  6. Gregory Hines – Pure talent on every level.  One of the nicest people I ever met!  Just the best!!  My favorite dancer by far!
  7. Irving Penn – What can you say about the greatest of the greats!!  
  8. George Harrison – My favorite Beatle!!  Best shoot ever!!!

  10. David Bowie – Just the greatest of the greats on every level.  He inspired me too many times to count.  Still does!!
