Do you want to be popular or good?  Popular or rich?  A popular photographer or have popular photos?  How important is popularity?  Sad to say, but I think in today’s world popularity is overrated and underrated.  Make sense?  I think it depends on how important popular is to you.  I think you should decide what is import for you and your art.

For me… I don’t care that much about popularity.  I don’t measure my success with how popular I am.  I do think my photos are more popular than me anyways.  I think everyone has seen my photos, but doesn’t know it’s me.  Having popular photos is more important to me than me being popular.  My photos will last forever and I will only be here another 100 years at best.  ;-)

I’ve always felt that being good at what you do will last longer and be more fun.  I’ve worked hard my whole life to be the best that I could be no matter what I shoot.  If popularity comes from this, great.  If not, all good.  I think it’s different for everyone and everything.  I just know having popular photos is pretty cool.
