My second directing adventure was for Def American’s band, Medicine. I was asked to direct a video where it looked like an acid trip. With a small budget, I hired a few Art Center Students as crew, an up and coming DP, and spent the day making an art project. In post production, we just fucked around and turned a bunch of knobs till we got what we wanted. The end result is an acid trip (although I would have NO idea what an acid trip is since I never touched the stuff). The best news was when Rick Rubin liked it and gave me the stamp of approval.
