WTF?  What is Wabi-Sabi you ask?  This is a Japanese aesthetics I learned a very long time ago.  Like way back when I was in High School.  It rang so loud to me then and more so now than ever.  The best way I like to think of it is this…

  • The elusive beauty of imperfection.
  • The perfection of imperfection.
  • To recognize the beauty in simplicity, authenticity and imperfection.

These are the basic thoughts and definitions.  You can dig deeper if you desire.  I just know it’s something I have consciously chosen to pursue in my art, life and work.  I appreciate it more now than ever.  This is a great site/page to read if yer interested… https://www.omaritani.com/blog/wabi-sabi-philosophy-teachings

LAST… I suggest you read and think about the philosophy behind it.  It truly makes sense and feels right.  So many different times in my life I’ve had to remind myself of Wabi-Sabi.  I’ve always stopped and read anything I find about it Wabi-Sabi.  I’ve always been curious to learn more.  Maybe you should too.
